Prayer for our government

At Our Sunday Visitor, as everywhere else in our angry land right now, we feel helpless and frustrated by the stalemate in Washington and all those whose lives are affected as a result. Of course all of us should be writing our president and our congressmen and women to make our opinions known, but we must not forget prayer. More than 200 years ago, one of our earliest Catholic leaders composed a "Prayer for Government" that today is a reminder of the ideals of our nation and our faith. Please join us in prayer for our president and our Congress.
