(Rome Reports) This weekend, Rome will become the world's capital for families. More than 150,000 pilgrims are expected to arrive to the Eternal City in a pilgrimage to St. Peter's Tomb and also to meet Pope Francis.
The title of the event is: 'Family, Experience the joy of faith!' It's the result of a combined effort between the Pontifical Council for the Family and the Pontifical Council for the New Evangelization. It's also one of the most massive gatherings within the Year of Faith.
With this encounter, Pope Francis wishes to create bonds between generations, that is why children and grandparents will have a special role in all of the activities.
On Saturday, the Pope will welcome them in St. Peter's Square and on Sunday morning he will celebrate the Holy Mass. After the prayer of the Angelus, he will bless all the families of the world.
