A Day Dedicated to Vocations


Information about a Year of Faith event celebrating vocations was announced today:
The Holy See presented details of the upcoming Year of Faith event dedicated to seminarians, novices, and all those who have taken the path of vocation. Archbishop Rino Fisichella, president of the Pontifical Council for Promoting New Evangelization made the presentation during a press conference on Monday. Also present was Archbishop Jose Octavio Ruiz Arenas and Msgr. Graham Bell, secretary and under-secretary of the same council. The event will take place from July 4th-7th.
The theme of the event is 'I trust in you,' and will include a pilgrimage to the tomb of St. Peters, and an address by Cardinal Angelo Comastri, Archpriest of the Basilica and Vicar General of the Vatican City State. Roman churches will hold catechesis, and a celebration will be held at Piazza del Campidoglio with music and testimonies.'

On Saturday, the day will be dedicated to the Celebration of Reconciliation and Eucharistic Adoration, and some superiors will have an audience with Pope Francis. There will be a Marian procession in the Vatican Gardens.

Sunday will see Mass celebrated in St. Peter's Bascilica.
